Being in the Algarve region, the best places could only be related to the sea. In fact, any place in the Algarve is beautiful to see the sunset, but the places we will show you, are without a doubt, the most incredible ones.

Porto Mós Beach
(2 minutes from Belmar Resort)

After a day in one of the swimming pools of Belmar Spa & Beach Resort, ask for a snack at Juicy Corner to take away, spread the towel on Porto Mós beach, and watch an incredible sunset. You'll see the last sun rays between the rocks the sand will gain a golden hue and the sea right next to it will complete a wonderful end of day scenery.

Ponta Da Piedade

One of our favourite places is in Lagos, in Ponta Da Piedade. This is a tourist point, where the visit is mandatory at any time of the day. The characteristic rock formations of this place complement the moment when the sun goes down. If you are in Lagos during the day, finish the afternoon in one of the best places to watch the sunset.

Sagres
(40 minutes from Belmar Resort)

In what they call the end of the world, it is one of the best landscapes to watch the sunset. This small village in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, has the most coveted beaches for surfers. It is called "the end of the world" because the caravels left that place to discover the rest of the world.
It is in Cape São Vicente that dozens of people gather to watch this moment, ideal for couples. They usually arrive early to settle in and find a comfortable place to watch the sunset.
Tip: Take a coat or a blanket, even in the middle of summer, as it is a very windy area.

Ria Formosa
(1 hour and 8 minutes from Belmar Resort)

The Ria Formosa is a marshland that extends through the councils of Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António. Being a protected part of the Natural Park, this was considered one of the most beautiful parks in the Algarve.
At the end of the afternoon, this place that holds a natural beauty becomes an authentic stage for this moment that is the sunset. Although it is further away from your resort, it is a place not to be missed. Enjoy and get to know the islands during the day, and end the afternoon in style!

Cacela Velha

In the town of Vila Real de Santo António is the town of Cancela Velha, situated on a sandy elevation in front of the Ria Formosa and the sea, being part of the natural park of the Ria Formosa. Take the opportunity to spend the day in the Eastern Algarve and enjoy a phenomenal view in the late afternoon.
