Algarve:
Just six
months after opening, Al Sud earned its first Michelin Star—a distinction it
has retained until 2025. At the kitchen helm is Chef Louis Anjos, a renowned
figure in the culinary world and a familiar name in the prestigious Michelin
Guide.
Here, regional ingredients are the focus, with
a particular emphasis on the finest fish and seafood from the Algarve. For an
unforgettable dining experience, opt for the eight-course tasting menu (€175),
perfectly paired with a wine selection (€95).
This Michelin-starred restaurant is in Lagos, at Palmares Ocean Living& Golf.
Under the guidance of Chef João Oliveira,
delightful combinations of Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine are crafted,
with the freshness and authentic flavours of the ingredients always honoured.
The chef is committed to sustainability, and the restaurant is known for its
local fish and regional products.
Two menus are available, each featuring ten
gastronomic moments. The Terra Menu (€225) focuses on land-based products,
making it ideal for vegetarians. The Vista Menu (€225) highlights fish and
seafood. Both menus showcase the best of the Algarve's produce and are
complemented by wines for €140 or the premium pairing for €225. There is also
an option to add a cheese supplement to either menu (€20).

In 2021, Chef José Lopes made history at this
iconic Algarve restaurant, maintaining its Michelin Star for several years. The
restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, offering a vegetarian menu at
both times. It features a three-course menu (€90) with wine pairing (+€45) and
a second six-course menu (€155), which can also include wine pairing (€95).
For lunch, you can enjoy a three-course menu
for €90 with a wine pairing for €45. Alternatively, you can choose a six-course
menu for €155, with a wine pairing for €95. For dinner, indulge in the
three-course menu (€90), the six-course menu (€155), or the nine-course menu
(€175). Each menu has wine pairings priced at €45, €95, and €105, respectively.

Perched on the cliffs of Praia da Falésia in
Albufeira, overlooking the sea, Vila Joya is a true culinary gem. Austrian chef
Dieter Koschina leads the kitchen, masterfully curating a daily menu. Guests at
Vila Joya can expect to be delighted with a four-course tasting menu (€275),
which is always unique.
For lunch and dinner, diners can enjoy the
“Favorites” menu, while the “Daily Changing Signature Menu” is exclusively
available at lunchtime. Fresh seafood from the Algarve’s coast is at the heart
of the chef’s selections. Whenever the fish and seafood supplier delivers the
freshest catch, Chef Dieter Koschina immediately adds it to the daily menu.

Located in Porches, Algarve, the Ocean
restaurant proudly retains its two Michelin Stars in 2025. Chef Hans Neuner, a
highly skilled chef, leads the kitchen with an innovative menu designed to take
diners on a culinary journey.
The set menu, “Culinary Journey Around the
World” (€295), showcases global influences while paying homage to the rich
flavours of Portugal. To elevate the experience, guests can opt for the wine
pairing (€185 per person) or the premium wine selection (€360 per person).
Ocean is open from Wednesday to Sunday, between
7 pm and 9 pm, offering an exclusive fine dining experience.

Michelin-Starred Restaurants in the Eastern Algarve:
The terrace of
this restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy the tasting menus created by Chef
Luís Brito. As the name suggests, it offers views of the entire town of Tavira,
including the castle located next to the restaurant. You can enjoy lunch and
dinner, with two menus at each meal. For lunch, there is "A Viagem do
Sabor" (€170 p.p., €107 p.p. with wine pairing, €18 for a cheese
selection) and the "Entre Momentos" menu (€85 p.p., €65 p.p. with
wine pairing). For dinner, there is the "Toda a Viagem" menu (€225
p.p., €135 p.p. with wine pairing) and "A Viagem do Sabor" (€170
p.p., €107 p.p. with wine pairing, €18 for a cheese selection). Vegetarians can
enjoy a 7-course menu for €155 p.p., €95 with wine pairing, and €15 for a

GustoBy Heinz Beck – 1Michelin Star
This restaurant can be found at the Conrad Algarve
Hotel, where a majestic bar, an elegant dining room, and a terrace further
enhance the guests’ experience. Chef Heinz Beck leads the kitchen and maintains
a Michelin star at this fine dining establishment. Previously, he had earned
two Michelin stars while leading two other projects, which attests to his
competence and experience in this field. The tasting menus range from 9 to 7
courses (€180 and €165, respectively), with wine pairings available for each menu
(€280 and €250, respectively). The 7-course menu does not include langoustine
and red mullet. In addition to the tasting menus, there is an à la carte option
with dishes that satisfy even the most discerning palates.

The Michelin Guide continues to recommend three
restaurants in the Algarve whose quality stands, and the price is quite

João Sousa. The third restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2025 is
in Vila Nova de Cacela, led by André Simão, and is named Vistas Monte Rei.
